A Simple Leadership Beginning

A simple beginning for me yet when I look around with the complexity and chaos of today I would not have wanted it differently. It is unfortunate that we find ourselves not appreciating in the moment. When these moments become memories we realize how key they were in shaping us. Many days on horseback riding for miles exploring. My trusted partner. Together with our plans and spirit aligned we could do anything. A special bond. Safe and steady. Treating each other with respect and kindness. I learned that anything is possible with teamwork and gratitude. Days training were challenging if the trust and relationship was not solid. Forcing the learning never worked. Clarity in expectations, patience and affirmation produced so much more. Today as a coach. Being present as a confidential thinking partner. Joining the journey to explore the possibilities. Grounded in trust and a relationship that allows for free flow thinking. Patience with ourselves and others. Being authentic, a bit vulnerable, yet always safe. Courage to lead the future, curious enough to see different, and confident believing you are enough. As I reflect back I am grateful for those moments which are now memories on horseback that taught me so much.
